4 of the best restaurants in Cancun

In a city like Cancun, you can find everything when it comes to eating. You can always decide to go to McDonald’s. But if you want to go to a real restaurant, there’s no shortage of that! Whether you want to taste traditional Mexican cuisine or see what international restaurants the city has to offer, here is a selection of 4 of the best restaurants in Cancun that are worth the detour!

From Mexico

In case you are nostalgic for French gastronomy, Du Mexico is here to take you home for a meal. This restaurant run by a Lyonnais and his wife will delight you with its decoration made of modern art and its cuisine which combines fresh produce from Mexico with French culinary standards. Be careful, there are only a few tables and reservations are essential!

El Fish Fritanga

Located in the hotel zone, Fish Fritanga doesn't look like much from the outside, especially next to a Domino's pizzeria! But once you enter, the place reveals its charm! This small restaurant offers excellent Mexican cuisine for a very attractive price. I advise you to start with pescadillas and move on to ceviches (the octopus is absolutely phenomenal) and shark tostadas. You risk leaving the restaurant with a full stomach!!!

Terra Nostra

Terra Nostra specializes in Mediterranean cuisine. The warm Mediterranean salad is a must made with fresh seafood (shrimp, mussels, scallops and octopus) and kalamata olives, potatoes, tomatoes and peppers. And all it takes is one bite of the homemade carbonara pasta with parsley, bacon, parmesan and walnuts to make you forget that the next day you're supposed to get into a swimsuit to go tan on the beach. Give it a try, after all you are on vacation!

Hanaichi

Sushi in Cancun, seriously? Not just any ones, Hanaichi’s! For around fifteen years, Japanese chef Hashimoto has been delighting the hotel zone with the flavors of his country's authentic cuisine. Here too the exterior is not very impressive, but we eat incredibly fresh dishes: sushi, tempura, teppanyaki, udon... It feels like it! It is a relatively small restaurant and quite famous, even among Cancúnians, who go there from the city center, so it is better to book in advance.
